No, no, not the kind you can find on popular radio. Rather, it’s the advocates and activists of all eras in music who broke the silence of their societies to advance progressive causes and ideas. The Beethovens, Bowies, Piazzollas, Lennons, Nina Simones who, through their art, broke taboos, challenged ignorance, and disrupted the silence. The duo Stick&Bow, featuring marimba and cello, led by the excellent Juan Sebastian Delgado and Krystina Marcoux, recipients of the Performer of the Year and International Outreach Awards at the 2024 Opus Gala, will be presenting a brand new show including narration and music. Together, they tell us (in French) about this show, beautifully named “Disrupting the Silence,” which will be presented at Orford Musique on August 15, 2025.
