Il s’agit d’un événement gratuit au cours duquel Scott Thomson (directeur du festival de jazz de Guelph) jouera un solo de trombone de trois heures à Casa ; venez lui rendre visite ou installez-vous confortablement pour assister à ce marathon. Il jouera une pièce intitulée “Enamel”, née en 2021 lorsqu’il a demandé au compositeur Martin Arnold de créer un solo pour lui. Le résultat est une longue pièce composée de nombreuses cellules mélodiques qui ne se répètent pas et qui se déroulent lentement sans proposer de développement, créant ainsi un sentiment de perpétuité.
Les participants sont invités à arriver et à partir à leur guise, et à écouter pendant la durée qui leur convient.
This is a free event in which Scott Thomson (director of the Guelph Jazz Festival) will play a three-hour trombone solo at Casa; come and visit him or sit back and watch this marathon. He’ll be playing a piece entitled “Enamel”, born in 2021 when he asked composer Martin Arnold to create a solo for him. The result is a long piece made up of numerous melodic cells that don’t repeat and unfold slowly without offering any development, creating a sense of perpetuity.
Participants are invited to come and go as they please, and to listen for as long as they please.
