Julian Gutierrez est originaire de Holguín, Cuba où il a fait une formation musicale académique du plus haut niveau qui soit. Il est l’héritier d’une tradition musicale familiale. Au début de sa carrière professionnelle, il tourne en Europe, Mexique et aux États-Unis avec le groupe Mezcla puis arrive à Québec l’année 2001. Il a un Baccalauréat en jazz à l’Université de Sherbrooke, puis Maîtrise et Doctorat en jazz à l’Université de Laval, ce qui l’a plongé dans la réalité musicale du Québec, le liant d’amitié avec plusieurs musicien.nes du monde du jazz.

Julian Gutierrez hails from Holguín, Cuba, where he studied music at the highest academic level. He is heir to a family musical tradition. At the start of his professional career, he toured Europe, Mexico and the United States with the group Mezcla, before arriving in Quebec City in 2001. His Bachelor’s degree in jazz from the Université de Sherbrooke, followed by a Master’s and Doctorate in jazz from the Université de Laval, immersed him in the musical reality of Quebec, befriending many musicians from the jazz world.

Olivier Salazar est vibraphoniste, pianiste/claviériste, compositeur et arrangeur originaire de Montréal. Initié dès son plus jeune âge à la musique à l’École secondaire Pierre-Laporte et à l’École des jeunes de l’Université de Montréal, il complète une technique en composition et arrangement jazz au Cégep de St-Laurent. Il finalise enfin son parcours avec un baccalauréat en performance jazz à l’Université McGill (piano et vibraphone). Olivier travaille au sein de la communauté jazz/pop de Montréal en collaborant avec de nombreux artistes tels que The BrooksLa Bottine Souriante, Louis-Jean Cormier, Jacques Kuba Séguin, Émile Bilodeau, Jérôme 50Urban Science et plusieurs autres. Olivier a également eu la chance de travailler avec des artistes internationaux en enregistrant sur le dernier disque de Petula Clark Vu d’ici, et en performant dans un concert de big band avec Dave Holland.

Olivier Salazar is a vibraphonist, pianist/keyboardist, composer and arranger from Montreal. Introduced to music at an early age at École secondaire Pierre-Laporte and École des jeunes de l’Université de Montréal, he completed a degree in jazz composition and arrangement at Cégep de St-Laurent. He then completed a bachelor’s degree in jazz performance at McGill University (piano and vibraphone). Olivier works within the Montreal jazz/pop community, collaborating with artists such as The Brooks, La Bottine Souriante, Louis-Jean Cormier, Jacques Kuba Séguin, Émile Bilodeau, Jérôme 50, Urban Science and many others. Olivier has also had the chance to work with international artists, recording on Petula Clark’s latest album Vu d’ici, and performing in a big band concert with Dave Holland.
