Nuits d’Afrique : La flûte peule avec Lasso

Lasso Sanou est né dans une famille de griots, dans un petit village du nord du Burkina Faso, en Afrique de l’Ouest. Il a grandi dans un environnement où la musique et les chants étaient au centre de la vie des gens. C’est ainsi qu’il découvre très vite ses grandes aptitudes à chanter et à jouer de plusieurs instruments traditionnels africains.

Il apprend d’abord les percussions (balafon, tamani, djembé, flute peul) et plus tard le kambélé n’goni. Grâce à son célèbre cousin Dramane Dembélé, Lasso découvre la flûte peule en 2004 et développe une véritable passion pour cet instrument. 

Il devient rapidement l’un des flûtistes les plus talentueux du pays. Après avoir joué pendant plusieurs années au Burkina Faso, Lasso est arrivé au Québec en 2009, où il est devenu un pilier de la scène musicale. 

Lasso crée son propre style appelé FRAMM ( Fusion Reggae Afro Mandingue Métissé). Une musique qui soigne et unit les désunis. Le groupe performe en solo, trio et band complet de 6 musiciens. Lasso collabore aussi avec plein d’autres artistes et participe dans plein de projets, comme Kuné du Conservatoire Royal de Toronto. etc…

Lasso Sanou was born into a family of griots in a small village in northern Burkina Faso, West Africa. He grew up in an environment where music and song were central to people’s lives. This is how he discovered his great ability to sing and play several traditional African instruments.

He first learned percussion (balafon, tamani, djembe, peul flute) and later the kambélé n’goni. Thanks to his famous cousin Dramane Dembélé, Lasso discovered the Peul flute in 2004 and developed a real passion for this instrument. 

He quickly became one of the most talented flautists of the country. After playing for several years in Burkina Faso, Lasso arrived in Quebec in 2009, where he has become a pillar of the music scene. 

Lasso creates his own style called FRAMM (Fusion Reggae Afro Mandingue Métissé). A music that heals and unites the disunited. The group performs in solo, trio and full band of 6 musicians. Lasso also collaborates with many other artists and participates in many projects, such as Kuné from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto, etc…
