Whether taking center stage as a DJ, party co-creator or producer, Gene Tellem conveys her own style of deep house, tinged with soul and mischief, dedicating her productions to grooves for bobbing heads and swaying bodies. Her productions are inspired by the reverie and energy of electronic music events, imbued with the rhythms, melodies, movements and collective emotions of the live underground club experience. She made her debut with Who Says No, on Patrick Holland and Sebastian Cowan’s Sounds of Beaubien Ouest (SOBO) label. Her next EP, Untitled, was released on Wolf Music. Now a key musician on the Montreal scene, Gene Tellem set up her own label in 2019, Bienvenue Recordings, on which she released The Inner Dance EP, the label’s first release.
