Étienne Coppée has just arrived and he’s already here – and you won’t want him to leave. “The more personal what we create, the more universal it becomes”: holding emotion and friendship before all things, he tells us about himself, his surroundings, his affections, his ups and downs, to bring us together. On record or in concert, Étienne Coppée is a confluence of sensitive folk and pastoral soul, with several voices that sometimes become one, a desire to connect with you – to make you want to sing along. A finalist in the 25th edition of the Francouvertes, his debut album Et on pleurera ensemble was released this year by Simone Records. And there you have it. He’s saying hello.
