MUNYA a commencé à jouer du piano classique à l’âge de 4 ans jusqu’à son adolescence où elle a commencé à se produire et à étudier l’opéra et les techniques vocales classiques. Elle a lentement affiné sa voix et appris à devenir une “Coloratura” et s’est qualifiée pour plusieurs concours, dont le “Concours de musique canadienne Canimex” à l’âge de 16 ans. Elle interrompt alors son étude de la musique classique et s’intéresse de près au jazz. Elle commence un programme à l’Université de Montréal où elle étudie le jazz et tombe amoureuse des œuvres de Bill Evans, John Coltrane et Nina Simone. Après son séjour à l’université, elle a commencé à collaborer et à faire des tournées en tant que claviériste et choriste avec d’autres artistes montréalais, notamment Alex Nevsky, Philemon Cimon, Ouri et Sterling Grove.

MUNYA began playing classical piano at the age of 4 until her teenage years where she began performing and studying opera and classical vocal techniques. She slowly honed her voice and learned to become a “Coloratura” and qualified for several competitions, including “Canimex Canadian music competition” at the age of 16. She then paused her study of classical music and took a deep interest in Jazz. She began a program at the University of Montreal where she studied Jazz and fell in love with the works of Bill Evans, John Coltrane and Nina Simone. After her University time she began collaborating and touring as a keyboardist and back up singer with other Montreal artists including Alex Nevsky, Philemon Cimon, Ouri, and Sterling Grove.
