Under the supervision of maestro Véronique Lacroix, the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal’s Sérénade ensemble presents works built around the use of wind instruments, c/o Franz Schubert, Eugène Bozza, Darius Milhaud, Max Reger, Johann Nepomuk Hummel and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Further proof that jazz and classical music are increasingly connected, double bassist Éric Lagacé will lead a jazz combo made up of students from the Conservatoire to play standards taken from the American repertoire, interspersed with improvisations, as one might imagine.
