2nd prize in the OUM 2023 concerto competition
Whether they are composers, conductors, soloists or instrumentalists with the OUM, students from the Faculty of Music will be in the spotlight during this Rising Stars evening! Discover previously unpublished works by the winners of the OUM 2023 Composition Competition, testifying to the creative vitality of the Faculty. Pianist Fiona Wu will be in the spotlight with Beethoven’s Fourth Concerto, a masterpiece of piano literature in which the soloist opens the dialogue. The flute takes center stage in Gougeon’s Conversations for flute and orchestra, in which Catherine Chabot brings out the full expressive and technical potential of the solo instrument.
Qu’ils exercent leur talent en composition, en direction d’orchestre, comme solistes ou instrumentistes au sein l’OUM, les étudiants et les étudiantes de la Faculté de musique seront sous les feux de la rampe lors de cette soirée Étoiles montantes! Découvrez des œuvres inédites des lauréats du Concours de composition de l’OUM 2023, témoignant de la vitalité créatrice de la Faculté. La pianiste Fiona Wu sera à l’honneur avec le Quatrième concerto de Beethoven, chef-d’œuvre de la littérature pianistique lors duquel le soliste ouvre le dialogue. La part belle sera donnée à la flûte dans l’œuvre de Gougeon, Conversations pour flûte et orchestre, qui permettra à Catherine Chabot de mettre en valeur tout le potentiel expressif et technique de l’instrument soliste.
