The Fondation PHI pour l’art contemporain is proud to present Oma-je, the largest exhibition in North America by renowned French artist Laure Prouvost, opening to the public on November 1, 2024. Adapted from the 2023 version at Remai Modern in Saskatoon, this immersive exhibition will unfold in the seven galleries of Fondation PHI in Montreal. Oma-je celebrates Prouvost’s relationships with her family, friends and loved ones, as well as the thinkers, activists, personalities and artistic predecessors who inspired her. The exhibition celebrates both intellectual heritage and embodied ways of knowing, shifting the focus from grandfather to grandmother and from forefather to foremother. She sings of love, touch and teaching, themes that are deeply intertwined.
