Betania López est une auteure-compositrice-interprète chilienne, aux rythmes latins mélangés à des sons jamaïcains et carnavalesques, avec des paroles quotidiennes qui dépeignent le Chili actuel d’un point de vue féminin, dans une véritable fête qui ne laissera personne sans danser.

À ses débuts, elle a participé aux écoles de rock, remportant l’une des premières places de la génération 2011, et au début de 2012, sa musique a fait ses débuts en dehors du Chili, plus précisément en Catalogne, en Espagne. Un an plus tard, elle est finaliste du concours de rock et de musique de Pablo de Rokha.

Son premier album, composé de 9 chansons, est sorti sous le titre “La última carta” en 2014, tant au Chili qu’au Mexique et en Espagne, année au cours de laquelle elle a également effectué sa première tournée promotionnelle au Mexique.

Par la suite, elle a publié son deuxième album studio appelé “Amor Perverso y Dub”, un album expérimental avec des colorants élétroniques, dont est issu le premier single “No es tu Rocksteady” travaillé avec le musicien et producteur Cristóbal “Pera” Prezz (Apokalipo, De Kiruza et Ana Tijoux), a été publié sur toutes les plateformes à la fin de 2018, faisant tourner le single par toutes les radios régionales, certaines capitales et clôturant l’année dans une deuxième tournée au Mexique.

Au cours de l’année 2019, Betania a sorti plusieurs singles et collaborations, a reçu le Fondo para el Fomento de la Música Nacional, Línea de apoyo a la Internacionalización de la Música Chilena, open window, ce qui leur a permis d’atteindre les médias et le public mexicain pour la troisième fois. Betania fait actuellement la promotion de ses derniers singles récemment sortis, “Santa Capucha”, inspiré par le rôle des femmes dans cette nouvelle construction sociale, et “Censura”, qui est un appel à la prudence contre l’abus de pouvoir, la force de la vérité en tant que lumière transformatrice qui renaît et peut être vue dans les cœurs de cette société.


Betania López is a Chilean singer-songwriter, with Latin rhythms mixed with Jamaican and carnival sounds, with everyday lyrics that depict today’s Chile from a female perspective, in a true party that won’t leave anyone without dancing.

In her early days, she took part in rock schools, winning one of the top spots in the 2011 generation, and in early 2012, her music made its debut outside Chile, specifically in Catalonia, Spain. During 2019, Betania released several singles and collaborations, received the Fondo para el Fomento de la Música Nacional, Línea de apoyo a la Internacionalización de la Música Chilena, open window, which enabled them to reach the Mexican media and public for the third time. Betania are currently promoting their recently released singles, “Santa Capucha”, inspired by the role of women in this new social construct, and “Censura”, which is a call for caution against the abuse of power, the power of truth as a transformative light that is reborn and can be seen in the hearts of this society.
