Willy Mitchell
Willy Mitchell est un musicien canadien des Premières nations originaire de la communauté algonquine de Kitigan Zibi, près de Maniwaki, au Québec. Mitchell a enregistré et fait des tournées principalement dans les années 1970 avec son groupe Desert River Band. Willy continue d’écrire des chansons qui découlent de ses expériences en amour, au travail et dans la vie en général.
Willy Mitchell is a Canadian First Nations musician originally from the Algonquin community of Kitigan Zibi, near Maniwaki, Quebec. Mitchell recorded and toured mostly in the 1970s with his Desert River Band. Willy continues to write songs that stem from his experiences in love, work and life in general.

Cofondée par le percussionniste Bruce Cawdron et la violoncelliste Rebecca Foon en 2001, Esmerine, plusieurs fois lauréate d’un Juno, garde un pied dans le classique contemporain et le minimalisme de la fin du 20e siècle, l’autre dans un terrain sonore plus viscéral et lyrique né du post-rock, du punk, du folk et global.
Co-founded by percussionist Bruce Cawdron and cellist Rebecca Foon in 2001, multi Juno-winning Esmerine keeps one foot in contemporary classical and late 20th century Minimalism, the other in more visceral and lyrical sonic terrain born from post-rock, punk, folk and global.

À l’aide de la voix, d’enregistrements sur le terrain et d’instruments, Nadah El Shazly crée des pièces sonores obsédantes et des formes de chansons qui détournent la perception du temps par leurs couches complexes et leur structure dynamique.
Using voice, field recordings and instruments, she creates haunting sound pieces and songforms that hijack the perception of time with their complex layers and dynamic structure.
