Le Quatuor Molinari présente Dialogue sur le Plateau : Transparence

En guise de préparation au concert Transparence  du 17 février au Conservatoire, les musiciens du Quatuor Molinari vous invitent à venir dialoguer avec eux sur les oeuvres au programme. Durant cet atelier gratuit, les musiciens et le compositeur Brian Cherney discuteront des oeuvres, joueront des extraits et analyseront les quatuors pour vous permettre une meilleure écoute et compréhension. Ils répondront aussi à toutes vos questions sur les oeuvres, les techniques instrumentales et le travail de musicien.

In preparation for the Tranpsarence concert on February 17 at the Conservatory, the musicians of the Molinari Quartet invite you to join them in a dialogue about the works on the program. During this free workshop, the musicians and composer Brian Cherney will discuss the works, play excerpts and analyze the quartets to help you better listen and understand them. They will also answer any questions you may have about the works, instrumental techniques, and musicianship.

L’ensemble vocal Katimavik présente Skadi à la Maison Symphonique

Trop souvent oubliés et rarement présentés pour leurs œuvres chorales, les compositeurs scandinaves marqueront ce concert-anniversaire exceptionnel. Chœur, solistes et grand orchestre vous invitent donc à découvrir et savourer ces joyaux du Nord ainsi que quelques surprises puisées parmi les incontournables de l’Ensemble.

In April 2020, a northern breeze will blow Ensemble vocal Katimavik’s fifty candles. Scandinavian composers – whose choral works are too often neglected and scarcely performed – get centre stage for this exceptional anniversary concert. EVK’ chorists and soloists will be joined by a full orchestra and invite you to discover or rediscover a selection of these northern gems, along with a collection of surprises from the Ensemble’s Best of.

C’est un spectacle où le ballet classique rencontre la danse traditionnelle chinoise, où les danses folkloriques, les arts martiaux, la danse du lion, le chant et la musique folklorique se marient pour vous emporter vers une expérience magique.

Cette année, plus d’une centaine d’artistes de La Troupe Artistique Phoenix de Montréal et de danseurs professionnels canadiens de différentes ethnies d’une renommée internationale se réuniront pour vous présenter leur interprétation passionnée de ces arts orientaux.

This event will be a chance to enjoy poetic singing, dancing, and other cultural presentations. The background magnificence of the mountain and landscape scenes will show the perfect miracle of nature in a unique and full artistic expression. A new style Chinese ballet dancing, classical and folk dancing, martial arts, lion dancing, singing, folk music and more will be showcased to produce a complete magical experience.

This year, the concert will feature more than a hundred artists from La Troupe Artistique Phoenix de Montréal and some internationally renowned Canadian professional dancers of various ethnicities from all over the world who will share their passionate interpretation of all these oriental arts.

La soprano Marianne Lambert partage la scène avec sa complice Valérie Milot (harpe) et propose un concert rassemblant de très beaux airs de Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini, Sgambati, Mozart et Schubert ayant pour point commun la nuit, airs qui charment et invitent à la rêverie.

The night provides its reveries and its mysteries… Canzone di Notte brings together magnificent arias that evoke enchanting or fragile hopes, happy dreams or tinged with disarray. Soprano Marianne Lambert shares the stage with her accomplice Valérie Milot (harp) and offers a concert bringing together very beautifularias by Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini, Sgambati, Mozart and Schubert having the night has a common point: arias that charm and invite you to dream.

Lancement d’album : Djim Radé au Ministère

L’album Djim Radé est enregistré entre N’Djaména, Toulouse, Yaoundé puis la postproduction à Milan au Studio Pachamama de Roberto Arzuffi sous la direction artistique de Fabrizio Colombo. Cet album se veut aussi panafricain et rassembleur car on peut noter la participation de plusieurs artistes africains. Djim Radé, musicien-auteur-compositeur-interprète montréalais-tchadien [fait son] lancement dans le cadre du mois de l’Histoire des Noirs, une soirée haute en célébration a été pensée pour faire rayonner la musique de la diaspora de musicien.ne.s afro-descendant.e.s au Québec. Lors de la première partie, un rassemblement festif de musicien.ne.s afrodescent.e.s du Québec pour venir célébrer avec moi sur scène.

The album Djim Radé was recorded between N’Djaména, Toulouse, Yaoundé and then post-production in Milan at Studio Pachamama of Roberto Arzuffi under the artistic direction of Fabrizio Colombo. This album is also pan-African and unifying because we can note the participation of several African artists. Djim Radé, a Montreal-Chadian musician-singer-songwriter, is launching his album as part of Black History Month, an evening of celebration designed to showcase the music of the Afro-descendant diaspora in Quebec. During the first part, a festive gathering of Afro-descendant musicians from Quebec to come celebrate with me on stage.

Le Phoque Off présente Metz avec Fuudge

La musique créée par Alex Edkins, Hayden Menzies et Chris Slorach a toujours été difficile à limiter dans un genre. Leur première oeuvre fait echo au DIY hardcore des années 1990. Avec leur dernière sortie, Atlas Vending, METZ continue à pousser leur musique dans d’autres directions et dynamiques.

The music made by METZ, Alex Edkins (guitar & vocals), Hayden Menzies (drums) & Chris Slorach (bass) has always been difficult to pin down. Their earliest recordings contained nods to the teeming energy of early ‘90s DIY hardcore. With their 2020 release Atlas Vending, METZ not only continues to push their music into new territories of dynamics, crooked melodies, & sweat-drenched rhythms, they explore the theme of growing up & maturing within a format typically suspended in youth.

Fuudge

En 2016, Fuudge présente pour la première fois son improbable mélange de stoner-grunge-psychédélique aux Francouvertes. Ses deux premiers EPs se méritent chacun le prix EP rock de l’année au GAMIQ alors que son premier long jeu est nommé Album rock de l’année. En 2020, Fuudge présente un second album, Fruit-Dieu, qui récolte les éloges de la critique et du public. L’année suivante, le groupe révèle l’ambitieux album Déplogué au Grand Théâtre de Québec, tiré d’un concert acoustique regroupant neuf musicien.ne.s dont un quatuor à cordes.

En attendant la venue d’un nouvel album, Fuudge se défoule sur scène avec un spectacle qui a la finesse de varger avec mélodie, subtilité et pertinence.

In 2016, Fuudge presents for the first time its unlikely blend between stoner-grunge and psychedelic at Francouvertes. Since then, they came out with two new EPs and two brand new albums. While waiting for their upcoming work of art, Fuudge blow off steam on stage with a show that has the finesse to scale with melody, subtlety and relevance.

Sa carrière musicale débute au sein du groupe Teenage Jesus and the Jerks sur l’album anthologique de Brian Eno paru en 1977 : No New York, considéré comme l’acte fondateur du mouvement no wave. Égérie du mouvement Underground et no wave new-yorkais, auteure de plus de trente albums, elle a également enregistré avec Sonic Youth et Nick Cave, a publié en collaboration avec Exene Cervenka l’album Rude Hieroglyphics et collabore avec Rowland S. Howard. Actrice du cinéma underground, elle a participé à de nombreux films. Artiste de la mouvance underground, Lydia mène une carrière faite de nombreuses collaborations. Elle réside actuellement à Brooklyn après 10 années passées à Barcelone.

Howard. Actress of the underground cinema, she participated in many films. Artist of the underground movement, Lydia leads a career made of numerous collaborations. She currently resides in Brooklyn after 10 years in Barcelona.

Lauréate du Félix pour Artiste autochtone de l’année au gala de l’ADISQ, du Teweikan dans la catégorie Folk, Meilleure interprétation et Prix coup de coeur du jury au Gala Teweikan et lauréate du Prix de l’auteure-compositeur Autochtone TD de la Fondation SOCAN, Laura Niquay est une artiste atikamekw originaire de Wemotaci en Mauricie. Elle se  démarque par sa voix incomparable en chantant dans sa langue autochtone: l’atikamekw. Sur scène, le spectacle est festif et nous fait vivre une montagne russe d’émotions. Le public se laisse guider par le discours calme et authentique de Laura, qui prend le temps de bien transmettre les valeurs de sa culture.

Winner of the Félix for Aboriginal Artist of the Year at the ADISQ Gala, of the Teweikan in the Folk category, Best Performance and Jury’s Favourite Award at the Teweikan Gala and winner of the TD Aboriginal Songwriter Award from the SOCAN Foundation, Laura Niquay is an Atikamekw artist from Wemotaci in Mauricie. She distinguishes herself by her incomparable voice while singing in her native language: Atikamekw. On stage, the show is festive and makes us live a roller coaster of emotions. The audience is guided by Laura’s calm and authentic speech, which takes the time to transmit the values of her culture.
