RALAMI est un artiste d’origine béninoise résidant au Canada où il donne plusieurs spectacles et exerce son talent artistique. Il se définit comme un music preneur talentueux et a plusieurs cordes à son arc dans le domaine. Chanteur, rappeur, Sound designer, auteur, compositeur, beatmaker, il joue de plusieurs instruments. Il a quitté le Bénin depuis 2012 pour Montréal d’où il revient annuellement pour des shows et clips.

Fondateur d’un jeune label de développement d’artistes du nom de FON SONORE PRODUCTION immatriculé au Canada ainsi qu’au Bénin, Il est actuellement en coproduction avec MEKO PROD AFRICA. Il a pour objectif de faire connaître sa culture dans le monde à travers sa langue natale le FON et les nombreux rythmes de son pays mélangé à ses influences musicales dans le monde.

Il a à son actif une mixtape de 12 titres FON SONORE et un Extended Play (mini album de 6 titres) intitulé TCHIGAN.

RALAMI is an artist of Beninese origin living in Canada, where he performs a number of shows and exercises his artistic talent. He defines himself as a talented musicpreneur and has many strings to his bow in the field. Singer, rapper, sound designer, author, composer, beatmaker, he plays several instruments. He left Benin in 2012 for Montreal, from where he returns annually for shows and music videos.

Founder of a young artist development label called FON SONORE PRODUCTION registered in Canada as well as Benin, He is currently in co-production with MEKO PROD AFRICA. His aim is to make his culture known to the world through his native language FON and the many rhythms of his country mixed with his musical influences around the world.

He has to his credit a 12-track mixtape FON SONORE and an Extended Play (6-track mini album) entitled TCHIGAN.

Chanda and The Passengers au Club Balattou

Chanda & The Passengers débute en 2016 lorsque Zander Masser (guitare) publie une annonce en ligne recherchant des musiciens funk/soul pour un nouveau band. Le processus fonctionne à merveille : quelques semaines plus tard, les 7 membres de Chanda & The Passengers commencent à se rencontrer hebdomadairement pour écrire et développer leur son.

Chanda Holmes (chant), originaire de Montréal, pousse le band dans une direction Soul et R&B. C’est elle qui s’empare de la scène à chaque spectacle et conquit le public. Pierre Emond (Saxophone) a étudié le Jazz à McGill avant de partir vivre et jouer en Europe pendant 15 ans. Carlos Casique (Piano) a immigré au Canada depuis le Venezuela pour devenir musicien ; il se charge de l’harmonie jazz et des rythmes latins dans les morceaux. Zander Masser (Guitare), provenant de New York, a jouer dans des dizaines de formations aux Etats-Unis et souhaite maintenant faire vivre le groove au Canada. Laurent Massie (basse), a passé sa vie à jouer au Québec dans des formations funk, prog et pop. C’est lui ancre et pousse les pièces du band. Gonzalo Camelo (trompette) vient de Colombie et apporte le son classique salsa qu’il a su développer au cours d’une longue carrière musicale internationale. Finalement, Romain Peynichou (batterie), provenant de Paris, mixe sa passion pour la musique funk et la batterie jazz dans les pièces de Chanda & The Passengers.

Chanda & The Passengers began in 2016 when Zander Masser (guitar) posted an online ad seeking funk/soul musicians for a new band. The process worked wonderfully: a few weeks later, the 7 members of Chanda & The Passengers began meeting weekly to write and develop their sound.

Chanda Holmes (vocals), originally from Montreal, pushes the band in a Soul and R&B direction. She takes the stage at every show and conquers the audience. Pierre Emond (Saxophone) studied Jazz at McGill before leaving to live and play in Europe for 15 years. Carlos Casique (Piano) immigrated to Canada from Venezuela to become a musician; he takes care of the jazz harmony and Latin rhythms in the songs. Zander Masser (Guitar), from New York, has played in dozens of bands in the United States and now wants to bring the groove to Canada. Laurent Massie (bass), has spent his life playing in Quebec in funk, prog and pop bands. He anchors and pushes the band’s pieces. Gonzalo Camelo (trumpet) comes from Colombia and brings the classic salsa sound he has developed over a long international musical career. Finally, Romain Peynichou (drums), from Paris, mixes his passion for funk music and jazz drums into the pieces of Chanda & The Passengers.

Jonas Attis au Balattou

À la fois ancré dans les traditions et tourné vers l’avenir, l’artiste d’origine haïtienne, Jonas Attis, cultive ce même état d’esprit dans sa musique qui amalgame le rara traditionnel avec le pop haïtien. Envahi d’une énergie contagieuse sur scène, il mélange, à travers ses chansons, des paroles engagées avec des refrains qui ne manquent jamais de faire bouger la foule !

Dans l’optique de rendre hommage à son pays d’origine, ce compositeur et interprète livrera à son public montréalais une performance trempée dans le folklore haïtien, le Reggae, le Hip-Hop et la Pop.

Haitian artist Jonas Attis, who is as grounded in tradition as he is turned towards the future, cultivates this same spirit in his music, a blend of traditional Haitian rara and modern pop. With his infectious energy and pointed political lyrics, he delivers his music with sing-along choruses that never fail to the crowd moving.

In tribute to his native country, this singer-songwriter will be treating Montrealers to a performance steeped in Haitian folklore, reggae, hip-hop and pop.

Pufty au Balattou

Pufty est originaire du pays de Saint-Vincent-et-les-Grenadines dans le sud des Caraïbes. Autodidacte, Pufty compose ses propres chansons Soca, participant à la diffusion des musiques calypso à Montréal. Il est membre du célèbre Vincentian Dynamite Calypso Tent basé à New York et se produit régulièrement pour le public caribéen en Amérique du Nord.

Pufty is originally from the southern Caribbean country of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Self-taught, Pufty composes his own Soca songs, participating in the spread of calypso music in Montreal. He is a member of the famous Vincentian Dynamite Calypso Tent based in New York and performs regularly for Caribbean audiences in North America.

Betania Lopez au Balattou

Betania López est une auteure-compositrice-interprète chilienne, aux rythmes latins mélangés à des sons jamaïcains et carnavalesques, avec des paroles quotidiennes qui dépeignent le Chili actuel d’un point de vue féminin, dans une véritable fête qui ne laissera personne sans danser.

À ses débuts, elle a participé aux écoles de rock, remportant l’une des premières places de la génération 2011, et au début de 2012, sa musique a fait ses débuts en dehors du Chili, plus précisément en Catalogne, en Espagne. Un an plus tard, elle est finaliste du concours de rock et de musique de Pablo de Rokha.

Son premier album, composé de 9 chansons, est sorti sous le titre « La última carta » en 2014, tant au Chili qu’au Mexique et en Espagne, année au cours de laquelle elle a également effectué sa première tournée promotionnelle au Mexique.

Par la suite, elle a publié son deuxième album studio appelé « Amor Perverso y Dub », un album expérimental avec des colorants élétroniques, dont est issu le premier single « No es tu Rocksteady » travaillé avec le musicien et producteur Cristóbal « Pera » Prezz (Apokalipo, De Kiruza et Ana Tijoux), a été publié sur toutes les plateformes à la fin de 2018, faisant tourner le single par toutes les radios régionales, certaines capitales et clôturant l’année dans une deuxième tournée au Mexique.

Au cours de l’année 2019, Betania a sorti plusieurs singles et collaborations, a reçu le Fondo para el Fomento de la Música Nacional, Línea de apoyo a la Internacionalización de la Música Chilena, open window, ce qui leur a permis d’atteindre les médias et le public mexicain pour la troisième fois. Betania fait actuellement la promotion de ses derniers singles récemment sortis, « Santa Capucha », inspiré par le rôle des femmes dans cette nouvelle construction sociale, et « Censura », qui est un appel à la prudence contre l’abus de pouvoir, la force de la vérité en tant que lumière transformatrice qui renaît et peut être vue dans les cœurs de cette société.

Betania López is a Chilean singer-songwriter, with Latin rhythms mixed with Jamaican and carnival sounds, with everyday lyrics that depict today’s Chile from a female perspective, in a true party that won’t leave anyone without dancing.

In her early days, she took part in rock schools, winning one of the top spots in the 2011 generation, and in early 2012, her music made its debut outside Chile, specifically in Catalonia, Spain. Iba Diabaté, c’est tout un caractère! Une personnalité bien trempée qui a appris la musique en cachette de son père, le célèbre griot Abdoulaye Diabaté, qui l’aurait bien vu médecin, comptable ou ingénieur. C’est donc en catimini qu’il s’est perfectionné, au fil des ans, à la guitare acoustique, au balafon et au chant. Iba Diabaté aime être sous le feu des projecteurs. Acteur et mannequin à ses heures, c’est cependant sur scène qu’il s’épanouit le plus, dans un style populaire ralliant les rythmes traditionnels du Mali, le Jazz et le Blues et mettant en valeur sa voix captivante, délivrant avec éloquence, en bambara, des textes exprimant son humanité.

A strong personality who learned music in secret from his father, the famous griot Abdoulaye Diabaté, who would have liked him to be a doctor, accountant or engineer. Over the years, he quietly perfected his skills on acoustic guitar, balafon and vocals. Iba Diabaté loves the limelight. Actor and model in his spare time, it’s on stage that he really comes into his own, in a popular style that combines traditional Malian rhythms, jazz and blues, and showcases his captivating voice, eloquently delivering lyrics in Bambara that express his humanity.

Nuits d’Afrique : Kabey Konate & Farafina Roots invite Dramane Konate au Club Balattou

N’est pas n’importe qui qui fait les premières parties d’Alpha Blondy et de Tiken Jah Fakoly ! Le Reggae du charismatique Kabey Konate, fidèle de Nuits d’Afrique, est ponctué de sonorités traditionnelles mandingues qui lui donnent une saveur particulière, celle d’être imprégné par la sagesse des anciens. Celui qui se définit comme le Griot du Reggae offre des prestations hautes en couleur. Ses propos humanistes et son enthousiasme contagieux lui ont valu le prix du meilleur concert aux Marley d’or, à Ouagadougou, en 2022. Pour ce spectacle, Kabey sera accompagné de son frère aîné, Dramane Konaté, percussionniste reconnu à travers le monde pour sa puissance et sa technique, qui a notamment travaillé avec Ami Sacko et Bassékou Kouyaté.

Not just anyone can open for Alpha Blondy and Tiken Jah Fakoly! The reggae of the charismatic Kabey Konate, a regular at Nuits d’Afrique, is punctuated by traditional Mandingo sounds, giving it a special flavour, that of being imbued with the wisdom of the ancients. The man who describes himself as the Griot of Reggae delivers colorful performances. His humanist lyrics and infectious enthusiasm won him the prize for best concert at the Marley d’or awards in Ouagadougou in 2022. For this show, Kabey will be accompanied by his elder brother, Dramane Konaté, a percussionist renowned worldwide for his power and technique, who has worked with Ami Sacko and Bassékou Kouyaté, among others.
