A true rap phenomenon on social networks for the past 2 years, Fredz, 21, from Montreal, is already shattering records.

His freestyles, regularly shared on social platforms, captivate a committed fanbase (500,000 subscribers on TikTok / 140,000 on Instagram), testifying to his growing influence. In 2022, he marked a significant milestone with the release of his album “Astronaute”, streams of which have since topped the 40 million mark. Beyond his undeniable talent or his apt, melodious words, Fredz seems to have quickly earned the respect of the music community in Quebec and abroad. In 2022-2023, he sets off to meet his public with a first tour of 50+ concerts across Quebec and Europe. Fredz is carving out a place for himself on the French-speaking music scene. A third album is in preparation, due for release in March 2024, and this evening will be the launch.

A hot night of eclectic, unifying rhythms for a 13th year at Club Soda! KARNIVAL with Poirier is now a Montreal All-Nighter classic.

Karnival will feature Poirier accompanied by urban Afro-style dancers who have already taken part in several events and videos with Poirier. Also, Piyou, a solid DJ from Montreal who has often played with Poirier, will be on hand for the first hour before Poirier takes over from 1 to 3.

Karnival is a thunderous dance floor with dancehall, soca, afrobeats, afro house and more. The DJs will set the room ablaze with a selection that leaps effortlessly from one continent to another, linking new and discovered with carnival-like energy!

Une nuit chaude aux rythmes éclectiques et rassembleurs pour une 13e année au Club Soda ! KARNIVAL avec Poirier est maintenant un classique de la Nuit blanche à Montréal.

Squid With Water From Your Eyes at Club Soda

The propulsive post-punk of U.K. upstarts Squid began gaining traction the late 2010s with a handful of early singles helping the Brighton band net a deal with Dan Carey’s Speedy Wunderground imprint. The buzz only grew with prime festival appearances and the 2019 release of their Town Centre EP. Switching to the Warp label and with Carey producing, Squid released their acclaimed debut album, Bright Green Field, in early 2021. The more progressive and rhythmically intricate O Monolith followed in 2023.

Le post-punk propulsif des jeunes pousses britanniques Squid a commencé à prendre de l’ampleur à la fin des années 2010, avec une poignée de premiers singles qui ont aidé le groupe de Brighton à décrocher un contrat avec le label Speedy Wunderground de Dan Carey. Le buzz n’a fait que croître avec les premières apparitions dans les festivals et la sortie en 2019 de leur EP Town Centre. En passant au label Warp et avec Carey à la production, Squid a sorti son premier album acclamé, Bright Green Field, au début de l’année 2021. A rootsy Nashville-based singer/songwriter, Briston Maroney mixes an earnest folksiness with a ’90s-style indie rock melodicism. Following a handful of singles, he gained acclaim at the end of the 2010s for a pair of EPs before making his major-label debut with 2021’s full-length Sunflower. Live and deluxe versions of the album followed over the next two years along with singles like “Paradise” and “Body.”

Auteur-compositeur-interprète de Nashville, Briston Maroney mélange un folk sincère avec un mélodisme indie rock des années 90. Après une poignée de singles, il a été acclamé à la fin des années 2010 pour deux EP avant de faire ses débuts sur une grande maison de disques avec l’album complet Sunflower, sorti en 2021.
