Pool Kids

Truth Club

Le Truth Club de Raleigh a immédiatement fait sensation lors de la sortie de son premier album Not An Exit en 2019. Poets’ Workout Sound System

Originaires de Montréal et de Toronto, Poets’ Workout Sound System réunit deux amis de longue date qui se bousculent mutuellement sur scène sous le signe de rythmes NRG percutants, d’images psychédéliques et d’une poésie radicalement libératrice. Inspiré de l’étrangeté néo-chaussettes des années 1980 de Jane Fonda, P.W.S.S. propose de la poésie, vêtue de survêtements neufs et accompagnée de tempos rapides, comme un possible mode de résistance au capitalisme. Ils cherchent à susciter l’excitation et la liberté de mouvement des corps ensemble, puisant dans l’image collective des dessins animés de Keith Haring devenus réalité. Faites votre truc ! Modelled after the neo-pull-up-your-sox wierdness of the Jane Fonda 1980s, P.W.S.S. offers Poetry, dressed in fresh track suits and accompanied by fast BPM tempos as a possible mode of resistance to capitalism. They seek to engage the excitement and free movement of bodies together, tapping into a collective image of Keith Haring cartoons come alive. Do your thing! Focus your vibe! Based out of Chicago, the group emerged in 2001 and released their debut album, Australasia, in 2003. They continued to explore the outer reaches of stoner rock, doom, and post-metal on acclaimed subsequent outings like City of Echoes (2007), Forever Becoming (2013), and Nighttime Stories (2019).

Working with producer James Elkington, his fourth album, 2022’s Good and Green Again, was the first to feature any original compositions. After switching from longtime label Paradise of Bachelors to Fat Possum, Fussell teamed up with Elkington again for 2024’s When I’m Called.
