This is the last major recording by the genius Wayne Shorter, alongside Danilo Perez, Brian Blade and John Patitucci, one of the greatest jazz quartets of all time, sometimes joined by the Imani Winds Chamber Orchestra. This collection of public recordings was released in 2013, the year in which the saxophonist turned 80, still in full possession of his abilities. Inspired themes, open structures, brilliant harmonic choices, individual contributions of the highest level, perfect interaction between colleagues, a keen sense of the present moment, and an ideal synthesis of the advances of contemporary jazz.
