The Norwegian band’s tenth album is important in its discography, because it combines the vocal style of Krysstofer “Garm” Rygg (Ulver, Arcturus), Borknagar’s very first singer, with that of his successor, Vintersorg (Vintersorg). Beyond this quality, Winter Thrice is an album that doesn’t grow old, and that highlights all of Borknagar’s musical influences. The result is a majestic and inspiring record, a portal into into a timeless dimension.
