It’s hard to overstate the influence of Devo’s subversively silly, first-generation synth-punk, so their resurrection following a two-decade hiatus ran the risk of ruining the reminiscence. The contrary was however the case, with a comeback album matching their very best efforts at the turn of the ’80s, packed with memorable tunes, the social satire as sharp and current as ever.
