Under the banner of Saint-Saëns & Tchaikovsky, this album brings together some of the most important works in the cello repertoire: Camille Saint-Saëns, “Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Op. 33”, “Allegro appassionato, Op. 43” and “Le Cygne”, and by Tchaikovsky, “Variations sur un thème rococo, Op. 33” and “Pezzo capricioso, Op. 62”. Only 19 years old at the time of this recording, cellist Tétreault offered an energetic and captivating performance, surprising music lovers with the maturity of his interpretation and the subtlety of his playing, all admirably supported by the OSQ under the direction of Fabien Gabel.
