Palomosa 2026: Sophia Stel – How To Win At Solitaire (Deluxe Edition)

· by Stephan Boissonneault

Drugs or no drugs, everyone needs their comedown set at a music festival, and Sophia Stel will absolutely be providing it with her hazy blend of alternative pop rock. Utilizing auto-tune (to harmonize with herself, the way it was intended) under a wash of shoegazey guitars, synths, and drum machines, Sophia Stel’s music is for resting the heart rate, lulling you into a sense of security, like floating on a cloud above a storm on a rainy day.

How To Win At Solitaire originally dropped last year as only a six-song EP, and this new deluxe edition comes with one new track, “I’ll Take It,” mixed by the electronic producer Mura Masa, and a few other edits of Solitaire songs. This new track, “I’ll Take It,” slips into more danceified hyper pop rock, but still feels like it was made in a bedroom. “All My Friends Are Models (Tommy Genesis Version) now feels a bit more post-punk and motorik (my favourite on this new deluxe version), whereas the original was fringing on baroque pop.

Regardless of Sophia Stel’s decision for her set at Palomosa, this will easily be the haziest and chill sets at this year’s Palomosa. She also just dropped a new hyperpop-centric track with “Bitches Talk Shit,” [oh, don’t they?] which is sure to command the Palomosa dance floor.
