Since 2002, the 80-year-old icon of synthesizer music has applied her compositional techniques of drones and time dilation to instrumental music. In the wake of the excellent Occam Ocean 1, released in 2017, a more intimate work for three performers, Radigue has teamed up with the instrumentalists of the Orchestre de Nouvelles Créations, Expérimentations et Improvisations Musicales under the direction of Frédéric Blondy, to deliver the masterful Occam Ocean 2. This music, both visceral and spiritual, and totally invested by the performers, seems to really touch the essence of sound. For lovers of La Monte Young, Alvin Lucier and Pauline Oliveros.
