The breakthrough album for A Tribe Called Red and their last with the original members, Nation II Nation wove pow wow chants over bass-heavy trap, moombahton and dancehall beats. A more mature offering than their first album, it would propel them — and Indigenous culture — into the international spotlight. The act of Indigenizing the club space — and with it urban music genres heretofore maddeningly disconnected — is a political one, and one that the group bore with grace and responsibility.
