After recording the critically acclaimed Op. 9 (2007), Op. 17 and Op. 20 (both 2009) quartets, the London Haydn Quartet presented the six Op. 33 quartets in 2013. Enriched by the sound of period instruments, the meticulous interpretation of this classical masterpiece was marked by outstanding care and precision, as well as great sensitivity. At the same time, the London ensemble does not fail to maintain a agreeable simplicity, essential to Joseph Haydn’s music.
