A collaborative musical project revolving around the versatile Angus Stone, Dope Lemon concocted this little gem on a farm, under the Australian sun. A lazy, sexy and melancholic album, Honey Bones is full of nonchalant stoner grooves that can recall the Allah-Las, Dandy Warhols, Mazzy Star, BJM or Mac Demarco. Fucked-up folk rock, seaside psychedelic pop with some darker but still very cool tracks, Honey Bones is a very simple album that went largely under the radar when it came out, but which is still worth discovering today. A floating, dreamlike record.
