Wellington, New Zealand-born producer/instrumentalist/DJ Lord Echo’s third album was made specifically with the dancefloor in mind. His stated approach was to “take elements of a style of music that may be somewhat distasteful… say disco or techno,” and try to remake it using a sonic palette of vintage production techniques and a strong dose of reggae, Afro and soul. The result is a sparkling gem of a record boasting featured collaborations with Tony Laing (Fat Freddy’s Drop) and Mara TK (Electric Wire Hustle).
