Amirault joins long-time friends Adrian Vedady on double bass and André White on drums on this delicate and beautiful album. How could this be anything but excellent? And indeed, it is very good. Six compositions and three standards form the fabric of this gently woven Change of Pace, with its dreamy ballads, graceful swing and impressionistic folk. The result is a splendid bouquet that won’t surprise the most impatient of contemporary listeners, but will delight everyone with its impeccable interweaving of melodies and refined colors, drawn with subtle, precise strokes.
