Clamor – Para No Olvidarte (Top Albums of 2024)

· by Lyle Hendriks

Argentinian emo-core outfit Clamor has certainly made an impact this year with their first and so far only long-form release: Para No Olvidarte. Grinding rhythm guitar, air-raid siren lead lines, and thunderous yet intricate percussion come together into a truly exceptional album that evokes Title Fight, Deftones, and even Montreal sweethearts No Waves. Lead vocalist Luca Cardozo brings intense energy and torment in every line, each lyric eminently singable whether you speak Spanish or not.

The album exudes a youthful energy, demanding you to throw down your chains and break out into a frantic two-step in spite of it all. It’s a collection of half-written love letters, unrequited angst, and sheer entropy, as though you were tearing down a mountainside on a bike, too afraid to hit the brakes in fear that you’d fly straight over the handlebars. It seems as though it’ll never let up—until it does. And when its brief, 22-minute runtime comes to a close, you won’t waste a moment as you run it back again.
