In this playful sonic and visual tale on the theme of recycling, Architek Percussion joins forces with Vitalija Glovackyte (objects, lighting and electronics), Victor Alibert and Michael Cutting to give a new lease on life to broken instruments, borrowed music and damaged machines salvaged from Montreal’s garbage garbage cans. A modern and playful fable! We Are for a While is a 45-minute work for four performers, electronics and lighting. This original and joyful show features six artists who use, dismantle, rebuild and reuse discarded objects, broken instruments and Lo-Fi devices found in garbage cans, alleys and recycling centers. Expanding on the notion of recycling, they reuse and “recontextualize” the music of some twenty artists, which find new life under their fingers, all tied together by real-time lighting.
