Patche’s music is created from a single, first draft. On album, these improvisations are deconstructed, then later reassembled into a variegated and harmonious quilt. The instrumental ensemble combines the talents of Eliott Durocher Bundock, Étienne Dupré, Lévy Bourbonnais, Mandela Coupal-Dalgleish and JB Pinard – notably behind the not inconsiderable Mon Doux Saigneur, Alex Burger, Lumière, Duu, zouz and Zombie Life Mon Coeur. They explore the limits of modular synths in an experimental, psychedelic approach in the spirit of krautrock.
C’est d’un premier jet et d’un seul trait que Patche crée sa musique. Sur album, ces improvisations sont déconstruites, puis ultérieurement réassemblées dans une courtepointe bigarrée et harmonieuse. L’ensemble instrumental combine les talents d’Eliott Durocher Bundock, Étienne Dupré, Lévy Bourbonnais, Mandela Coupal-Dalgleish et JB Pinard – notamment derrière les non négligeables Mon Doux Saigneur, Alex Burger, Lumière, Duu, zouz et Zombie Life Mon Coeur. Ils y explorent les limites des synthés modulaires dans une démarche expérimentale et psychédélique inscrite dans l’esprit du krautrock.
Born on her own planet somewhere on the outskirts of the known universe, as well as in Alma, Lac St-Jean, Mélissa Fortin has developed an organic relationship with musical composition since childhood. Fueled by studies in jazz piano, she later counterbalanced the solitude necessary for creation by getting closer to her fellow human beings in the heart of the many and varied projects in which she participated as pianist and keyboardist.
Issue de sa propre planète quelque part en périphérie de l’univers connu, ainsi que d’Alma au Lac St-Jean, Mélissa Fortin a développé dès l’enfance et par elle-même une relation organique à la composition musicale. Nourrie par des études en piano jazz, elle contrebalance plus tard la solitude nécessaire à la création en se rapprochant de ses semblables au cœur des multiples et très divers projets auxquels elle participe comme pianiste et claviériste.
