Prepare for a headlining performance by Hiro Kone (New York), the alias of Nicky Mao, a sonic architect known for crafting visceral meditations on rhythm, noise, and melody. Her captivating soundscapes, built from modular synthesis, field recordings, and live instrumentation, explore the unsettling and sublime, forging new sonic terrains from manipulated macabre elements.
The journey begins with the imaginative “scifi-turntablism” of award-winning SlowPitchSound, a Tkaronto/Toronto-based sonic architect crafting unique soundscapes from turntables, samples, and field recordings. The second passage of the evening introduces the visionary artistry of Engone Endong, a producer whose work boldly merges the rhythms and melodies of Gabonese traditions with the limitless textures of contemporary electronic music.
Next, immerse yourself in the singular noise-electronic world of GAMBLETRON, an interdisciplinary sound and performance artist based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal, manipulating radio waves and homemade circuits for an enveloping and often kinetic auditory experience.
An intense and eclectic night awaits, celebrating the raw power and boundless diversity of today’s sonic artistry.
