Upon First Impression est le premier album du chanteur montréalais Saku Mantere, né en Finlande. La musique a été composée et enregistrée en Finlande et au Canada avec la participation de musiciens parmi les meilleurs des deux pays. Travail magistral sur le chagrin d’amour et une vie partagée entre deux lieux, cet album est le fruit d’un long murissement. Une grande partie des chansons présentes sur l’album ont chantées lors des jam sessions vocaux du Dièse Onze, celui-ci est donc l’endroit parfait pour son lancement.
Upon First Impression is Finnish-born, Montreal-based vocalist Saku Mantere’s debut album. The music was composed and recorded in both Finland and Canada with a cast of some of the finest musicians from both countries. A masterful work about heartbreak and a life divided between two places, it’s an album that needed time for the fermentation process to mature. Much of the album’s music was sung at Dièse Onze vocal jam sessions, and it is a perfect spot to welcome the album to the world.
