Ricky Rickson (Ricky Makwe Bazilepo), born on July 4, 1986 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is a polyglot singer/songwriter and keyboardist fluent in French, Swahili, Lingala, and English. At the age of ten, he lost his sight due to an injury during the war. Despite his challenges, his passion for music led him to move to South Africa, where he began his career touring with a band, performing at festivals, and recording. Now based in Winnipeg, Ricky is exploring his creativity with music influenced by reggae and rhumba. He seeks to move his audience while challenging stereotypes about the blind in the music industry.

Ricky Rickson (Ricky Makwe Bazilepo), né le 4 juillet 1986 en République démocratique du Congo, est un chanteur/auteur-compositeur et claviériste polyglotte parlant français, swahili, lingala et anglais. À l’âge de dix ans, il a perdu la vue d’une blessure pendant la guerre. Malgré ses difficultés, sa passion pour la musique l’a conduit à déménager en Afrique du Sud, où il a démarré sa carrière en tournant avec un groupe, jouant dans des festivals et enregistrant. Maintenant établi à Winnipeg, Ricky explore sa créativité avec une musique influencée par le reggae et la rhumba. Il cherche à émouvoir son public tout en défiant les stéréotypes sur les non-voyants dans l’industrie musicale.
