Anthony Pasqua, alias Big Tones, est un artiste autochtone originaire de Saskatoon, en Saskatchewan. Il entretient des liens ancestraux profonds avec le territoire du Traité no 4, étant membre de la Première Nation de Pasqua no 79. Soucieux de briser le cycle des traumatismes intergénérationnels, Big Tones utilise la musique comme un exutoire, transformant ses expériences en récits portés par l’écriture de ses chansons. Artiste polyvalent, interprète captivant et mentor auprès de la relève, Big Tones puise son inspiration dans le hip-hop old school. Sa voix puissante et apaisante, combinée à des flows complexes et maîtrisés, captive les auditeurs de vers en vers. Au cours de la dernière année, sa carrière a connu un essor important. Son morceau « Don’t Cry » a atteint la première place du Indigenous Music Countdown, tandis que « Moccasin Flats » s’est hissé dans le top 10. Sa chanson « Shine » a atteint la 6e position du palmarès CBC Top 20 et a remporté le prix de la Chanson de l’année aux Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Association Awards. Big Tones a également été nommé dans les catégories Artiste hip-hop de l’année et Artiste masculin de l’année aux Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Awards 2025. Ces distinctions s’ajoutent à ses récentes nominations aux SaskMusic Awards pour Album de l’année, Artiste hip-hop de l’année et Vidéoclip de l’année. Il s’est produit dans plusieurs événements d’envergure, notamment BreakOut West, l’International Indigenous Music Summit et Come Together, à Toronto.

Anthony Pasqua aka Big Tones is an Indigenous Recording Artist residing in Saskatoon, SK. He has heavy ancestral ties to Treaty 4 Territory coming from Pasqua First Nation #79. Breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma, Big Tones uses music as an outlet, finding therapeutic release in storytelling through songwriting. Big Tones is a versatile artist, captivating performer and artist mentor. With a focus on old school hip hop sound, his powerful and soothing voice with intricate flows keeps listeners intrigued lyric after lyric. Big Tones is building on the momentum which has grown around his artistry and music over the last year. His single “Don’t Cry” reached #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown and his track “Moccasin Flats” also broke the top 10. “Shine” peaked at number #6 on the CBC Top 20 and also won song of the year at the Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Association Awards. Big Tones was also nominated for Hip Hop Artist of the year and Male Artist of the Year at the 2025 Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Awards. This follows his recent nominations at the SaskMusic Awards for Album of the year, Hip Hop Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Big Tones has showcased at the BreakOut West, the International Indigenous Music Summit and Come Together in Toronto.
