Sheenah Ko is premiering her brand new album at POP Montreal. As the keyboardist for The Besnard Lakes and Blaze Velluto Collection, she unveils her third self-produced album, “Transformation,” set to release on vinyl in September 2024. This time, she has joined forces with Félix Petit, known for his work with Hubert Lenoir and Les Louanges, to add the final touches to the recordings. The album is completely bilingual (French/English) and delves deep into the realms of electronic pop music, oscillating between trance and ecstasy, with hints of Ko’s influences, including the British electronic scene of the 90s, Björk, PJ Harvey, and Radiohead.
Ko’s live show offers a luminous experience of psychedelic and ethereal pop, at times venturing into ecstatic dance, infused with a jazz spirit that encourages improvisation. These virtuosos transport both the audience and themselves into a captivating symbiosis, sharing an incandescent festive moment, where smiles, applause, and dancing seamlessly merge into a unique and energetic universe.
