Depuis 2016, Ponteix brille ici et en Europe, récoltant nominations et distinctions, dont le prix Artiste francophone de l’année aux Western Canadian Music Awards 2025. Entre textures électroniques luxuriantes et mélodies empreintes de nostalgie, sa musique transcende les langues avec une énergie contagieuse. Willows interprétera son nouvel album Maison vent, l’histoire universelle d’une personne écartelée entre deux cultures. Cette collection de chansons personnelles parle des femmes : celles de sa vie, celles qui l’ont précédée ainsi que son expérience en tant que Métisse de la rivière Rouge d’origine franco-manitobaine, maintenant résidente de Montréal. Majoritairement en français avec un peu d’anglais et de Michif, les chansons évoquent le vent, la terre, les lacs, les rivières, les grands espaces et la route. Willows – avec son délicat mélange de folk, d’instruments acoustiques et d’harmonies vocales a remporté le prix Meilleur Album de l’Ouest canadien au Gala Trille Or, en plus d’obtenir des nominations au Gala alternatif de la musique indépendante du Québec (GAMIQ) dans la catégorie Meilleur album folk (Willows/Willows) et aux Canadian Folk Music Awards dans la catégorie Autrice-compositrice autochtone de l’année 2024.

Hailing from the heart of the Canadian prairies, Ponteix distills hypnotic grooves that blend electronic-psychedelic pop, R&B, and indie rock. On stage, the Fransaskois project, led by Mario Lepage, will perform as a duo, delivering an electrifying experience driven by lyrics deeply rooted in its heritage. Released in February 2025, the album Le canadien errant, co-produced with Louis-Jean Cormier, explores the cultural divide between Quebec and Saskatchewan. Since 2016, Ponteix has enjoyed success both here and in Europe, garnering nominations and awards, including Francophone Artist of the Year at the 2025 Western Canadian Music Awards. Between lush electronic textures and melodies imbued with nostalgia, Ponteix’s music transcends language with an infectious energy. Willows will perform her new album, Maison vent, the universal story of a person torn between two cultures. This collection of personal songs speaks of women—those in her life and those who came before her—, as well as her experience as a Red River Métis woman of Franco-Manitoban origin, now living in Montreal. Primarily in French with touches of English and Michif, the songs evoke the wind, the land, lakes, rivers, wide-open spaces, and the road. Willows’ delicate blend of folk, acoustic instruments, and vocal harmonies earned her the Trille Or Award for Best Western Canadian Album, nominations at the GAMIQ Awards for Best Folk Album (Willows/Willows), and a nomination at the Canadian Folk Music Awards for Indigenous Songwriter of the Year 2024.
