Don Juan embrase ensuite l’orchestre d’une énergie irrésistible, portrait flamboyant d’un héros consumé par l’absolu. Enfin, Don Quixote révèle le versant tendre et désarmant de Strauss : sous l’archet d’Alisa Weilerstein, le chevalier idéaliste prend vie avec noblesse et humanité, dirigé par Rafael Payare. Une autre version de ce concert est également offerte, avec un répertoire partiellement différent.
This program immerses us in the heroic world of Richard Strauss, where sweeping romantic fervor meets profound introspection. Death and Transfiguration opens the evening as a vast meditation, portraying the struggle of a soul striving toward the light. Don Juan then sets the orchestra ablaze with irresistible energy, a dazzling portrait of a hero consumed by his pursuit of the absolute. Finally, Don Quixote reveals Strauss’s tender, deeply human side: under the bow of Alisa Weilerstein, the idealistic knight comes to life with nobility and warmth, conducted by Rafael Payare. A second version of this concert is also offered, featuring a partially different repertoire.
