Le chanteur et compositeur australien Nick Murphy est reconnu pour ses productions électroniques atmosphériques, réalisées tant sous son propre nom que sous le pseudonyme de Chet Faker. Il s’est d’abord fait connaître grâce à sa reprise envoûtante et trip-hop de No Diggity de Blackstreet, avant de sortir plusieurs autres singles sous le nom de Chet Faker, dont des collaborations remarquées avec Flume et Kilo Kish. Son premier album, Built on Glass (2014), à la fois sensuel et minimaliste, connaît un immense succès, se hissant en tête des classements et obtenant une certification platine en Australie. Par la suite, Murphy décide de publier sa musique sous son véritable nom, adoptant une approche plus organique et soul avec Run Fast Sleep Naked, son deuxième album sorti en 2019. Il relance toutefois le projet Chet Faker en 2021 avec l’album Hotel Surrender. La même année, il dévoile également son groupe Nick Murphy & the Program avec l’album Take in the Roses.

Australian singer/songwriter Nick Murphy is known for crafting atmospheric electronic productions under his real name as well as the moniker Chet Faker. First gaining recognition for his haunting trip-hop cover of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity,” he released several additional singles under the pseudonym, including charting collaborations with Flume and Kilo Kish, before his sensual, restrained debut full-length, Built on Glass, arrived in 2014. The album was a major success, topping the charts and earning a platinum certification in his home country. After reverting to his birth name, Murphy took a more soulful, organic approach for the release of his sophomore full-length, 2019’s Run Fast Sleep Naked. However, he later revived the Chet Faker project for the 2021 full-length Hotel Surrender. That same year, he debuted his band Nick Murphy & the Program on Take in the Roses.
