L’orgue B3 et l’amplificateur Leslie du Palais Montcalm seront à l’honneur dans ce nouveau projet du Nicolas Ferron Trio qui emprunte autant au jazz qu’au rock. Ferron (guitare), Jonathan Cayer (orgue B3) et Louis-Vincent Hamel (batterie) créent une musique contrastée où les atmosphères éthérées s’enchaînent avec des grooves énergiques et exaltants. Profondément enraciné dans le jazz, Multiverse est aussi influencé par la musique de film et par les envolées psychédéliques de la fin des années soixante. Les trois musiciens, avec un plaisir contagieux, explorent les possibilités de cette instrumentation atypique et s’envolent volontiers dans des improvisations débridées.
The B3 organ and Leslie amplifier of Palais Montcalm take center stage in this new project by the Nicolas Ferron Trio, which draws as much from jazz as from rock. Ferron (guitar), Jonathan Cayer (B3 organ), and Louis-Vincent Hamel (drums) create a richly contrasted musical landscape, where ethereal atmospheres flow seamlessly into energetic, exhilarating grooves. Deeply rooted in jazz, Multiverse is also influenced by film music and the psychedelic flights of the late 1960s. With contagious enthusiasm, the three musicians explore the possibilities of this unconventional instrumentation, readily launching into bold, free-spirited improvisations.
