Mélodînes avec Felix Hong à la salle Claude-Léveillée

Le deuxième concert de la série Mélodînes qui se tiendra dans la salle Claude-Léveillée de la Place des arts le 15 mars à 12 h 10. Le jeune pianiste émergent Felix Hong interprètera des œuvres originales de compositeurs russes ayant vécu à la charnière du XIXe et du XXe siècle. Né à Taipei, en Taïwan, Felix Hong est arrivé au Canada en 2012 afin de poursuivre ses études en musique à l’École Schulich de l’Université McGill, où il a étudié le piano pendant 5 ans auprès du pianiste et enseignant Ilya Poletaev. Par la suite, il a poursuivi sa maîtrise à Londres, à la Guildhall School of Music and Drama, sous la direction des professeurs Ronan O’Hora et Joan Havill. Felix Hong a été honoré plusieurs fois. En 2016, il a été récompensé par le premier prix du Concours de musique du Canada. En 2017, il a remporté le Prix d’Europe et a fait partie du palmarès de la CBC des 30 musiciens classiques de moins de 30 ans les plus prometteurs. Felix Hong s’est produit dans des salles de la région de Montréal, dont la salle Claude-Champagne, avec l’Orchestre symphonique des Jeunes de Montréal, ainsi qu’en tant que soliste à la salle Bourgie et la Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur.

The second concert in the Mélodînes series will be held in Salle Claude-Léveillé at Place des arts on March 15 at 12:10 pm. The young emerging pianist Felix Hong will perform original works by Russian composers who lived at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Felix Hong arrived in Canada in 2012 to pursue his studies in music at the Schulich School of McGill University, where he studied piano for 5 years with pianist and teacher Ilya Poletaev. He then pursued his Master’s degree in London at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the guidance of Professors Ronan O’Hora and Joan Havill. Felix Hong has been honored several times. In 2016, he was awarded first prize in the Canadian Music Competition. In 2017, he won the Prix d’Europe and was named to the CBC’s list of the 30 most promising classical musicians under 30. Felix Hong has performed at venues in the Montreal area, including Salle Claude-Champagne, with the Montreal Youth Symphony Orchestra, and as a soloist at Salle Bourgie and the historic Chapelle du Bon-Pasteur.
