Margaret Donovan est une tromboniste de jazz, compositrice et éducatrice accomplie de la région de Montréal. Récemment diplômée de l’Université McGill, elle se produit fréquemment en tant que leader et sideman dans diverses salles de la ville. Pendant ses études à McGill, elle a étudié avec les musiciens Dave Grott, Jean-Nicolas Trottier, Camille Thurman et Remi Bolduc. Margaret s’est produite au Festival de jazz d’été de Montréal et a partagé la scène avec des légendes de la musique telles que Louis Hayes, Dan Brubeck, Ira Coleman et d’autres. Elle possède une grande expérience des grands orchestres, des petits ensembles de jazz, des ensembles de cuivres des Balkans, des orchestres de danse swing, des orchestres de fosse de théâtre musical et plus encore.

Le Margaret Donovan Sextet comprendra Owen Chow à la trompette, Sam Baglieri au saxophone ténor, Ludovic Rochon au piano, Ben Boardman à la basse, Matys Colpron à la batterie et Margaret au trombone. Ce groupe est impatient de jouer trois séries d’arrangements originaux de standards de jazz ainsi que quelques morceaux originaux.

Margaret Donovan is an accomplished jazz trombonist, composer and educator in the Montreal area. As a recent graduate from McGill University, she frequently performs as a leader and sideman in various venues around town. During her time at McGill she studied under musicians Dave Grott, Jean-Nicolas Trottier, Camille Thurman and Remi Bolduc. Margaret has performed at the Montreal summer Jazz Festival and has shared the stage with musical legends such as Louis Hayes, Dan Brubeck, Ira Coleman and others. She is well experienced in big band settings, small jazz ensembles, Balkan brass ensembles, swing dance bands, musical theatre pit bands and more.

The Margaret Donovan Sextet will feature Owen Chow on trumpet, Sam Baglieri on tenor sax, Ludovic Rochon on piano, Ben Boardman on bass, Matys Colpron on drums and Margaret on trombone. This group looks forward to performing 3 sets of original sextet arrangements of jazz standards as well as a couple originals tunes.
