This young ensemble is dedicated to the interpretation of Yiddish song. In this show, Kleyn Kabaret will present songs from their new album, featuring militant and revolutionary songs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as popular songs from musicals from the 1920s to 1950s, all in Yiddish, which they have reinterpreted in a free and contemporary way, while retaining their nature and emotional depth. In the Plateau Mont-Royal, a neighborhood that still retains traces of the strong Jewish presence of the 20th century, Kleyn Kabaret brings back to life a little of that vanished world, the Leonard Cohen, Mordecai Richler, Schwartz’s Deli or Moishe’s that still inhabit it.
