Pianiste de renommée internationale, ayant bâti sa réputation au cours de 20 ans de résidence à New York et au fil de nombreuses tournées autour du globe, Jean-Michel Pilc réside à Montréal depuis 2015 et enseigne le jazz et l’improvisation à l’Université McGill. Jean-Michel Pilc est un musicien et compositeur d’une profonde originalité, il vient de sortir de nombreux titres sur l’étiquette Justin Time, et son prochain album, Symphony, sera lancé à l’Off Jazz. Improvisateur sans barrière, ses prestations sont toujours intenses, imprévisibles et de haute volée. Le répertoire de son concert sera fait d’improvisations, de standards et de compositions au piano solo.

An internationally renowned pianist who has built his reputation over 20 years of residency in New York City and numerous tours around the globe, Jean-Michel Pilc has resided in Montreal since 2015 and teaches jazz and improvisation at McGill University. Jean-Michel Pilc is a musician and composer of profound originality, he has just released numerous titles under the Justin Time label, and his next album, Symphony, will be launched at L’Off Jazz. An adept improviser with no barriers, his performances are always intense, unpredictable and of the highest quality. The repertoire of his concert will include improvisations, standards and solo piano compositions.
