11:00 – Sylvie Walker

Sylvie Walker est auteure-compositrice “prairie-folk” fransaskoise établie à Saskatoon, en Saskatchewan. Avec une voix douce et fluide, elle incarne un univers à la fois charmant et sincère, faisant écho aux sonorités que propose Andy Shauf. Ses compositions sont empreintes d’expériences personnelles et collectives qui explorent des thématiques profondes, telles que le deuil sous toutes ses formes. Avec une délicate touche d’humour, elle aborde des sujets parfois jugés tabous, comme l’histoire canadienne-française et son influence de la foi catholique. En 2013, elle a remporté le Prix de la chanson primée SOCAN au Festival international de la chanson de Granby (FICG) pour sa chanson ‘Ti cœur. Elle vient tout juste de lancer son premier EP “Mon doux seigneur” le 21 février 2025 via le label Homestead Records.

Sylvie Walker is a Fransaskois “prairie-folk” singer-songwriter based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. With her soft, flowing voice, she embodies a world that is both charming and sincere, echoing the sounds of artists like Andy Shauf. Her compositions draw from personal and collective experiences, exploring deep themes such as grief in all its forms. With a delicate touch of humor, she addresses topics sometimes considered taboo, including French-Canadian history and the influence of the Catholic faith. In 2013, she won the SOCAN Song Award at the Granby International Song Festival (FICG) for her song “Ti cœur.” She recently released her debut EP, Mon doux seigneur, on February 21, 2025, via Homestead Records.

11:40 – Sam Mallais

Sam Mallais est un artiste acadien venu tout droit du Nouveau-Brunswick, qui n’a pas peur d’explorer des sonorités authentiques et vintages. Avec son premier album solo “Tu m’dirais quoi?”, réalisé par Mike Trask, Sam plonge dans l’univers du Blues/Rock psychédélique des années 70. Entièrement enregistré de manière analogique, cet album est une véritable ode aux textures brutes et aux riffs puissants.

Sam Mallais is an Acadian artist from New Brunswick who isn’t afraid to explore authentic, vintage sounds. With his debut solo album Tu m’dirais quoi?, produced by Mike Trask, Sam dives into the world of 1970s psychedelic Blues/Rock. Entirely recorded using analog methods, the album is a true ode to raw textures and powerful riffs.
