Les chansons indie rock de Jeremy Lachance déploient un charme, un je-ne-sais-quoi purement montréalais. Avec l’ingénuité d’un flâneur et le savoir-faire d’un artisan, l’artiste construit une musique qui se love naturellement entre les après-midi suspendus du Mile End.
Jeremy sait mettre ses gants blancs lorsqu’il écrit, compose ou réalise pour d’autres (Miel de Montagne, Laraw, Kieran Campbell). Mais lorsque vient le temps de se pencher sur ses propres œuvres, le musicien n’a pas peur de se salir les mains. S’en dégagent des textures feutrées dont on ne saurait cacher les coutures : douces, apaisantes, mais volontairement pleines d’imperfections. Surtout connu au sein du groupe indie Grand Eugène, c’est désormais en qualité d’auteur-compositeur-interprète que Jeremy Lachance se dévoile avec son premier EP Béton Bisous : six chansons faites maisons sous l’overpass Van Horne.
Jeremy Lachance’s indie-rock songs radiate a charm, a certain je-ne-sais-quoi that is unmistakably Montreal. With the ingenuousness of a wanderer and the craftsmanship of an artisan, he builds music that settles naturally into the suspended afternoons of the Mile End.
Jeremy knows how to put on white gloves when he writes, composes, or produces for others (Miel de Montagne, Laraw, Kieran Campbell). But when it comes time to focus on his own work, he isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. The result is a set of felted textures whose seams you can’t quite hide: soft, soothing, yet intentionally full of imperfections. Long known as a member of the indie band Grand Eugène, Jeremy Lachance now steps forward as a singer-songwriter with his first EP, Béton Bisous: six homemade songs crafted beneath the Van Horne overpass.

The Montreal psych-indie-rock band Wizaard, made up of Marie-Hélène Coutu and Jean-Nicolas Doss, is as sharp as winter yet as comforting as gravy.
