Né en 1960 à Paris, France, et également citoyen américain et canadien, le pianiste et compositeur autodidacte Jean-Michel Pilc s’est produit avec de nombreux géants du jazz: Roy Haynes, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman, Jean Toussaint, Rick Margitza, Michel Portal, Daniel Humair, Marcus Miller, Kenny Garrett, Lenny White, Chris Potter, John Abercrombie, Mingus Dynasty & Big Band, Lew Soloff, Richard Bona etc. Il a également travaillé avec Harry Belafonte, en tant que directeur musical et pianiste, et a joué en duo avec la légendaire chanteuse d’opéra Jessye Norman.
Acclamé pour son talent de composition considérable et très particulier, le saxophoniste David Binney est l’un des musiciens de jazz les plus prolifiques de la scène actuelle. S’attirant les louanges des critiques et de ses collègues, David a récemment été désigné par le Jazz Times comme l’un des quelques “musiciens qui ont créé une scène de jazz alternative… tous jouent une musique aventureuse et originale”.
Born in 1960 in Paris, France, now also an American and Canadian citizen, self-taught pianist and composer Jean-Michel Pilc has performed with numerous jazz giants: Roy Haynes, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman, Jean Toussaint, Rick Margitza, Michel Portal, Daniel Humair, Marcus Miller, Kenny Garrett, Lenny White, Chris Potter, John Abercrombie, Mingus Dynasty & Big Band, Lew Soloff, Richard Bona etc. He has also worked with Harry Belafonte, as his musical director and pianist, and has performed a duet with the legendary opera singer Jessye Norman.
