N Nao (17h)

N NAO, also known as Naomie de Lorimier, is a Montréal-born and based artist. For millions of years, she has explored experimental romance by way of music, performance and video. Her compositions employ an ecofeminist approach inspired by dreams and daily rituals. Her second full-length, L’eau et les rêves (March 24th, 2023 via Mothland) challenged traditional singer-songwriter music by aptly blurring the line between electronic and organic sounds. Celebrated by the public and the industry alike, the album made the Long List for the 2023 Polaris Music Prize. On top of stellar collaborations with Laurence-Anne, Klô Pelgag, Lou-Adriane Cassidy, and Lumière, she acted as main support for the likes of Sarah Pagé, Jessica Moss, Ariane Moffatt, Patrick Watson, and Water from Your Eyes. Over the past year, she took part in POP Montreal, Sled Island (Calgary, AB) as well as SXSW (Austin, TX), while also performing in Paris, FR and Berlin, DE. Last Winter, N NAO came back with Nouveau Langage, her third full-length released on January 31st, 2025 via Mothland, her second album to be long-listed for the Polaris Music Prize (2025).

Nadah El Shazly (18h)

Born and raised in Cairo, Nadah El Shazly began her musical path in a Misfits cover band before turning to experimental electronic composition. Her 2017 debut album Ahwar was met with international acclaim for its groundbreaking fusion of Arabic musical traditions and avant-garde production, earning her a leading place in global experimental music. In 2018, The Wire magazine featured her on its cover, highlighting “Cairo’s New Wave.” El Shazly’s performances are immersive experiences that merge her mesmerizing vocals with intricate sonic textures. She has collaborated with forward-thinking artists like Sam Shalabi, Elvin Brandhi, and Maurice Louca, and performed at renowned festivals including Irtijal, Le Guess Who?, Roskilde, FIMAV, and Rewire. As a composer for film, El Shazly’s soundtrack for The Damned Don’t Cry (2022) earned awards at the Bordeaux and Dublin film festivals. In 2024, she released Pollution Opera, a raw, genre-defying album with Elvin Brandhi exploring visceral electroacoustic soundscapes. Her latest project Laini Tani, co-produced with 3Phaz and featuring Patrick Graham and Sarah Pagé, is a sonic labyrinth where El Shazly’s commanding voice guides the listener through bold rhythmic structures and surreal textures. Nadah El Shazly continues to expand the possibilities of contemporary experimental music.
