AUS!Funkt’s sound is characterized by minimalist yet hard-hitting lyrics, which are an ode to the modern era’s chaotic information overload and societal critique, delivered with a mix of spoken word, impassive vocals and over-processed screams. Their sound is a pastiche of influences, ranging from the idiosyncrasies of DEVO and Talking Heads, to the danceable elements of New Order, the no-wave funkiness of James Chance, to the pulsating dub techno beats of Underworld.
