Le chanteur, auteur-compositeur et producteur nigérian d’afrobeats CKay a connu un succès fulgurant au début des années 2020 lorsque son single “Love Nwantiti” est devenu un succès viral dans des pays du monde entier. Initialement sorti sur son EP CKay the First en 2019, une version remixée avec Joeboy et Kuami Eugene est devenue un succès majeur en Australie, aux Pays-Bas, en Norvège, en Inde et au Royaume-Uni – elle est même entrée dans le Billboard Hot 100 aux États-Unis. Dans ce contexte de popularité croissante, CKay a sorti son premier album, Sad Romance, en 2022.

Amid this upswell of popularity, CKay released his debut long-player, Sad Romance, in 2022.
