Festival Orientalys : Albaluna au Quai de l’Horloge

Fri 08 Aug 2025 • 08:30 pm Electronic / percussions / Western European
Quai de l’Horloge - Montréal Gratuit
· by Rédaction PAN M 360

For fifteen years, Albaluna has torn through silence with a music where Iberian mountain bagpipes meet sweeping electronic layers, and the ancestral hurdy-gurdy roars under the fingers of Ruben Monteiro like a cry from centuries past.
Their album ENNEAD is a burning manifesto; a journey from Lisbon’s taverns to Silk Road caravans, weaving mournful fado, Balkan rhythms, and Gnawa trance into a revolutionary sonic tapestry. On stage, their once-forgotten instruments; electric sanfona, raging bouzouki, Ottoman percussion; become weapons of poetry, carrying ancient Portuguese texts that turn saudade into a cry against intolerance.
Each concert is a nomadic bivouac where the audience, gripped to the core by Sephardic melodies and prog rock riffs, becomes part of a shamanic ritual. Let Teresa Silva envelop you with her prayerful voice, Dinis Coelho shake the earth with his tablas, and Tiago Santos launch you into a cosmos where past and future fuse.
After India, Morocco, and the temples of Macao, their sonic whirlwind lands near you. Get ready to be stripped bare, transfigured, and stitched with gold by the raw energy of a band that does not fix the world, but reminds you that you are its spark.
